Jacqueline Pearce came to our school to share her experiences as an author. She grew up in Duncan. She has written many books including the following:
In this story, two girls learn about life and friendships in Paldi during the 1940s.
Here is a class photo from the Paldi school from 1941. This was part of her inspiration.
Jacqueline also wrote about a young girl named Emily Carr who lived in Victoria from1871 to 1945.
We often read these two books and study Emily’s artwork during our Pioneer Studies.
They are also available in our school library.
